Terms of Service

Receipts Book ("the Service") is owned and operated by VR88 Inc., a corporation registered in Canada. CRA Business Number: 793255357. You can reach us at hello@receiptsbook.app or (647) 724-5388. When you use the Service, you are entering into an agreement with VR88 Inc.

By creating an account or continuing to use the Service, you agree to these terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for that business. If you are using it as an individual, you confirm you are of legal age in your country.

Receipts Book lets you create numbered sales receipts, save them, and print, download, email, or share them. Saved receipts cannot be edited or deleted; a receipt can only be marked void with a reason, which preserves a complete record.

Keep your sign-in details confidential. You are responsible for everything done through your account. Give us accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for the accuracy of the receipts you issue and for meeting the record-keeping and tax rules that apply to your own business.

You must not:

• use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or misleading;
• issue false or deceptive receipts;
• infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights;
• send spam or unsolicited messages through the Service;
• interfere with the security or operation of the Service, including probing, scraping, reverse engineering, or introducing malicious code;
• resell, redistribute, or share access with people outside your business.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service under your chosen plan. VR88 Inc. keeps ownership of the Service, its software, design, and branding. Your receipts and business information remain yours; you grant us only the limited permission needed to store and process them so the Service can work.

Plans are $4.99 CAD per month or $49 CAD per year, billed automatically until cancelled. The first five receipts are free and require no payment details.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Billing, payment methods, applicable taxes, invoices, cancellations, and refunds are handled by Paddle under the Paddle Buyer Terms. See our Refund Policy for how to request a refund.

We work to keep the Service running, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. Maintenance, updates, and events outside our reasonable control may affect availability.

We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms, do not pay for your plan, create a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly or seriously misuse the Service. You can cancel at any time.

When you close your account, any active subscription is cancelled and your account enters a 30-day recovery period. Signing in during those 30 days restores your account exactly as it was. Before closing, you can download a complete file of all of your saved receipts, and we strongly recommend that you do.

After the 30-day period ends, your account and all receipts are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered by you or by us. You are solely responsible for keeping the records that your tax authority requires, such as the six-year retention period set by the Canada Revenue Agency.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Receipts Book is record-keeping software, not accounting, legal, or tax advice.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses, including lost profits, lost data, or lost goodwill. Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where the law does not allow it.

You agree to cover us for claims arising from the receipts and content you create, your unlawful use of the Service, or your breach of these terms.

We may update these terms as the Service develops. If a change is significant, we will let you know. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Ontario, unless the law of your home country gives you the right to bring a claim there.

You may not transfer your agreement with us without our consent. We may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition, or reorganisation. Neither party is responsible for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control.
