We do not sell, rent, or trade your information, and we do not use your receipts or your customers' details for advertising.

• Account details — your email address and sign-in credentials, so we can create your account and let you sign in securely. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
• Business details — your business name, address, phone, email, website, tax registration number, tax rates, and currency, so they appear on the receipts you issue. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
• Receipt records — receipt numbers, dates, line items, amounts, taxes, notes, payment method, and the customer name and contact details you enter, so your receipts can be saved, searched, printed, emailed, and shared. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you. You are the owner of this information; we process it on your instructions.
• Support messages — what you send us when you ask for help. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in supporting customers.
• Technical and usage information — IP address, device and browser details, log and error data, so we can keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in security and reliability.

Payment card details are never collected or stored by us. They are handled directly by our payment provider.

• Service providers — hosting, database, and email delivery providers that run the Service on our behalf, under contract and only for that purpose.
• Paddle.com — our reseller and Merchant of Record, which handles the sale, subscription management, payments, invoicing, and tax compliance for your plan.
• Professional advisers — our accountants and lawyers where necessary.
• Authorities — where we are required to by law or to protect our legal rights.

Our systems and service providers may store and process information in Canada, the United States, and the European Union. Where information leaves your region, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.

Receipts are kept for as long as your account is active, and we retain them for up to seven years to support tax record-keeping. Account and business details are kept while your account is open. After you close your account, your data is held for a 30-day recovery period so you can sign in and restore it. You can download a complete file of all of your receipts at any time before closing.

Once those 30 days pass, your account and receipts are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered by you or by us. We keep only minimal payment and transaction records where the law requires it for tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Depending on where you live, you may ask us to give you access to your information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or provide it in a portable form. You may also withdraw consent where we relied on it. Email hello@receiptsbook.app and we will respond within 30 days.

In Canada you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. In the UK or EEA you may complain to your local supervisory authority.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, encrypted storage, access controls, and strict database rules that keep each account's receipts visible only to that account. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

We use essential cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in and to keep the Service secure. We do not use advertising cookies. Because these cookies are strictly necessary, the Service will not work properly without them; you can clear or block them in your browser settings at any time.

Receipts Book is for businesses and is not intended for anyone under the age of majority in their country.

We will update this policy as the Service develops and will tell you about significant changes.
